IR Privacy Policy

Summary

IR helps you save named transit routes and ask Siri for the next departure. IR does not require an account.

Data Stored on Your Device

This route data is stored locally on your device so the app and its Siri shortcut can resolve your saved routes.

You can delete saved routes in IR to remove them from this device. Uninstalling IR removes local app data managed by iOS. IR does not operate an account system or server-side route profile.

Transit Data Requests

To show the next departure, IR sends route-planning and station lookup requests to Digitransit, the transit API used by the app.

These requests may include the stations or coordinates needed to find the next trip for your saved route.

Digitransit is a third-party service. Their handling of request data is governed by their own policies and terms.

Transit data comes from HSL/Digitransit. HSL open data is licensed under Creative Commons BY 4.0 where applicable. Some journey-planner geometry and address data may include OpenStreetMap-derived data under ODbL. Data delivered by HSL/Digitransit in 2026.

For App Store privacy disclosures, these requests are treated conservatively as search history and other app-functionality request data unless HSL/Digitransit confirms that the request data is only used for real-time request servicing and is not retained beyond that purpose.

Siri and Apple Services

When you ask Siri about a route, speech recognition and Siri processing are handled by Apple. IR receives the intent parameters needed to look up your saved route and return the next departure result.

What IR Does Not Do

TestFlight

If you install IR through TestFlight, Apple may collect diagnostic, crash, and beta-feedback information under Apple's own beta-testing systems and terms.
